Port City Volkswagen Car Show

 In 2018 a group of local VW enthusiasts from in and around the Tulsa area started discussing developing a new VW show. With air cooled and water cooled voices represented some early groundwork was made but progress stalled. Fortunately, one of the folks from that original group took the dream and ran with it! With a lot of passion for the idea he took it on as a personal project and always had it on his mind despite daily distractions. Always with an eye out while out driving, trying to spot the perfect location to put on the show. One day, driving past Rogers Point Park and seeing its potential, he decided to stop in and inquire with the City of Catoosa. A partnership was started that day with a city ready to welcome his idea. Next, he went before the executive board of the Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp, an organization he already did volunteer work for, and proposed the idea of the show as a fundraising opportunity for the organization.   Port City Volkswagen Show started as a standard, one day car show and has grown into a 3-day destination that happens annually on the 1st weekend of June. With plenty of lodging within 10 miles of the show site and now with the addition of on-site camping, this show catters to a wide variety of VW enthusiasts! It's a family event with live music, kid zones, fresh food, swap meet, vendors, bicycle brigade, and so many Volkswagens of every model, size, shape, color, and age. 2022 had registrations from 7 states and raised over 9000 to help the Burn Camp. With the continued growth of the show over the years we have raised nearly $35,000 for Burn Camp and with your support and participation we hope to continue this trend.  The Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp is a camp that happens the 1st week of August for the past 25 years. This camp is designed for young burn survivors.  The camp is a place for kids 6 - 16 that have been burned or have disfiguring scars. They get to go to camp free of charge because of fund raising events like Port City Volkswagen Show.
